Lyft Driver review
Lyft Driver review
Lyft Driver is an on-demand ridesharing app that fills empty seats in cars already on the road by matching riders and drivers. It offers tools to maximize vehicle occupancy during rides.
Interface: Simplicity at Its Finest 10/10
From a design standpoint, Lyft Driver is minimalistic but useful. All you need to do is to press the steering wheel in the top-right corner to tell passengers that you are available. When a request pops up on the screen, you have 15 seconds to accept it. If not, it moves on to the next driver. If you accept the request, you will drive to the passenger and then press a button, letting them know that you've arrived.
Features: Everything is just a Tap Away 10/10
Make sure you are prepared to use it before you open the app. New drivers can take a sample ride, starting with accepting a passenger and finishing with dropping them off. Once you get acquainted with basic features, you'll be guided through some advanced functions:
- Shared rides: Pick up passengers going to different places along the same route.
- Last ride: Tell the app that you need a break.
- Destination mode: set a destination to get passengers who need to drive in the same direction.
Finally, there is a Power Zones feature that allows you to earn more in the busiest hours.
Usability: A Side Job for Some Extra Money 9/10
Driving for Lyft is a great opportunity to make some money on the side. If you have a driving license and meet age requirements, you can easily work as a driver there. You don't even need a car because you can rent it at HyreCar.
Compatibility: Only For iOS and Android Users 6/10
You can download the app from the App Store and Google Play Store. The app is also compatible with smartphones set to Dark Mode. However, iOS 13 or above is required for Dark Mode. Android users need Android 10 or above to enable it.
The income you can generate from Lyft Driver is a nice addition to whatever you make at your full-time job. You can make around $200 per week. Add bonuses, and it can be quite a bit more. Overall, it's a well-designed, useful app.
